Hello!

Hi there!

I'm Kim and this is my new craft blog, Ombre Scissors. Welcome!

Some of you may know me from my old blog, Crafty Pink Anchor. I kinda went on a hiatus from paper crafting and blogging when I was pregnant with my baby boy (my first child!). I really missed blogging during my long hiatus, so I decided to start a new blog since it has been quite awhile.

A little bit about me:

I'm addicted to my Silhouette Cameo, stamps, inks, and just crafting in general. My coloring mediums are usually Spectrum Noir alcohol markers or Prisma colored pencils. My go to inks are Tsukineko Inks, Ranger Archival Inks and Tim Holtz Distress Inks. On this blog you will most likely see a lot of 3D papercrafts, cards, and stamping but I also enjoy creating jewelry and sewing, so maybe some projects of those also! My favorite thing about crafting or creating something is that you can personalize it to your style and taste. And that you have a one of a kind item that you made! With your own hands!

I live in New Jersey with my boyfriend and son. (I love being a Mom!) My favorite season is the fall and my favorite holiday is Halloween. I love music, coffee, flea markets, make-up, and black & white photos. I'm a night owl but I'm learning to enjoy mornings now. =)

Below is a quick tutorial for my Hello card. Hope to see you all again soon! Happy Craftin'!

For the base of the card, I trimmed a piece of black cardstock to 8.5 inches x 5.5 inches and scored it at 4.25 inches.

Next cut a piece of white cardstock (the kind for alcohol markers) to 5 inches x 3.5 inches. I stamped the scissors stamp randomly onto the white cardstock in Tsukineko Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. To color in the scissors, I used Spectrum Noir Markers - BP6, BP2, PP3, and the Blender.

The "Hello" greeting was cut out in blue cardstock using the Silhouette Cameo at 2.75 inches wide. I cut out 5 of them the same size and glued them together. I then offset the hello by .75 in Silhouette Studio and cut it out in white cardstock and adhered it to the back of the blue hello.

Then I assembled the stamped background to the card base and glued the hello greeting on the bottom right. So easy! The inside of my card is blank so I can use a white gel pen inside, but you can always cut out a piece of cardstock for the inside.
