Happy October! - DICC#003

Hi Guys!

For the first challenge of October at Desert Islands Crafters Challenge, I created a 6x6 scrapbook page. Sweet Escape is our wonderful sponsor for this challenge.

I used the Witch and Cat digi stamp and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers. I fussy cut out the stamp and adhered it to a 6x6 spider web paper. I then fussy cut out the bottles from another sheet of paper and adhered it onto the paper in front of the digi stamp to make it look like the witch was standing behind them. The Happy Halloween is a die cut sticker by K and Co., and the glitter spider is by Recollections.

Here is the itenerary for the challenge (you only need to use 3 items in your projects!). I used numbers 2,3,4 and 8.
Come visit us at DICC and check out all of the projects the Design Team created for this challenge and also please play along with us!

Thanks for stopping by! Happy October!!!

Pizza?!?! Sch-weet!!!!

Happy Fri-yay!

I created this quick card for a pizza lover I know using a pre-made card base that I cut down a little smaller.

All the stamps used on this card are by Sweet Stamp Shop, and were inked using inks by Imagine Crafts. The pizza slice has a pop dot underneath to give it some dimension. I love the checkered triangle stamp, for some reason it just reminded me of a pizza parlor (or restaurant) so I thought it would be the perfect background for the pizza slice.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Summer Grillin'

Happy Friday!

Backyard BBQ's are the BEST part of the summer! I love getting together with family and friends and grilling, chatting and listening to music.  There's only a couple more nice weather weekends left for BBQ's here in NJ so I will be grilling as much as possible.

This fun BBQ wall decor was made using my Silhouette Cameo. In Silhouette Studio DE, I opened the Summer BBQ Set by Lori Whitlock (purchased from the Silhouette Design Store). I ungrouped the items and deleted the grill. I selected the flames, grouped them together and removed them from the mat for later. I selected each tool and grouped them seperately with its extra hand grip piece. I resized each to 12.5" high (making sure lock aspect is checked). And moved all pieces to the mat and cut them with the Cameo.

Next I opened the Halloween Skull & Crossbones by Lori Whitlock in Silhouette Studio DE. I ungrouped the items and removed the bottom 2 layers. I resized the skull to 2.5" High.  I selected the offset tool and offset the skull using offset round by .1000 in distance and applied it.  Next I released the compound path on only the offset piece and removed the eyes/nose pieces so I only had a shadow layer for the top skull. With the Cameo, I cut out the shadow piece in black and the top of the skull in white.

For the flames, I resized the group to 5.3" wide and cut the pieces in 3 seperate colors - red, orange, and yellow. Then I glued everything together with Scotch Quick Dry Adhesive and used pop dots on the grip pieces.

I hope you enjoyed this project! As you can probably guess, me and the family will be grilling this weekend. Have a great weekend guys!

Say Churro!

Hey there!

Click pic for a better look!
It's been so hot in Jersey this week that I'm actually longing for Fall. Ok I admit, I always long for the fall. However, I do enjoy summer too so I created this 4x6 Churro card for my pocket page scrapbook to keep the 'summer vibes' going.

I cut the instant photo frame and backing of the frame with my Silhouette Cameo. I used VersaMagic inks for the sky/sun background, adhered the polaroid frame back and front together and then glued the stamped churros inside. Say Churro was stamped with Memento Ink and fussy cut out. The churros were colored with Spectrum Noir markers and there is Wink of Stella clear glitter on the actual churro part (not the wrapper). I adhered the frame to a 4x6 journaling card by Project Life with a Scotch ATG Gun and a little bit of washi tape. The hearts were stamped in the corners and colored with Spectrum Noirs as well.

Are you ready for Fall? Or are you still all for Summer? Let me know in the comments below!

Anchor Goodie Bags

Happy Friday!!!

So I purchased this really cool cardstock pack from Hobby Lobby by The Paper Studio called BEA-HUE-TIFUL. As soon as it caught my eye I was crushing on it. Beautiful ombre colors and cool designs (and a nice 40% off coupon) and I was all in.

This is the cardstock pad I purchased at Hobby Lobby!

I already had an anchor die from Spellbinders in my craft stash in my mind for a project with some of the papers, so I used them on a cute, simple and easy goodie bag that I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo.

Click pic for a bigger look!

The goodie bag is actually called "Bag With Rounded Top" by Lori Whitlock and is available in the Silhouette Design Store. (It may be available on her website too, I'm not sure.) I resized the design to 9.849 inches wide and cut the file out (it's only one piece) with my Silhouette Cameo. I know it's a weird size, but I was looking for the completed bag to be only 4.5 inches wide. I adhered the bag together and then die cut the anchor by Spellbinders with my Sizzix Vintaj BigKick, then glued the anchor to the bag.

Click pic for a bigger look.

I always find Lori's files so fast and easy to create with. She really simplifies her designs and they cut like a breeze. If you are a beginner or an advanced Silhouette user, I recommend trying out her cutting files if you haven't already.

Thanks for stopping by! Hope you have an awesome weekend!

Refresh Yourself.

Hi there!

I can't believe it is August already! This week my theme in my planner is Spa Week or as I like to call it, Refresh Yourself Week. I think everyone needs a week (if it's possible) where they can just slow the pace down, relax, de-stress and refresh. That is what I will be doing this week.

My Planner for the Week - Beach Please!

Hi Guys!

I wish I was down the shore (or as some say at the beach) but unfortunately I'm not. So I used the new Beach Face stamp set by Sweet Stamp Shop on my planner this week.

Click this pic for a larger look.
I love this washi/deco tape, it's one of my faves, but unfortunately I don't know what brand/company it is. I have it in a cool blue/green/yellow stripe version too. If you know who made it, please let me know! I'd love to get some more.

It's official. Beach Face is one of my new favorite stamp sets. The images in this stamp set are so cute and the phrases are spunky. Doesn't that dog on a raft just crack you up?! Ok, maybe it's just me. Lol.

I hope you are all having a great week! See you soon!

My Planner Monday - Sugar Skulls and Roses

Hi Guys!

This week I had a chance to decorate my planner and I went with a Sugar Skull and Rose theme using only black, white and red. (and a touch of grey...)

This is a simpler layout for me since some of my planner layouts get a little bit crazy. I love decorating my weeks differently and not being locked down into one style or one layout or one theme. I like to reflect the many different layers of myself in my planner (and in all of my cards/craft projects/life.)
Click the pic for a bigger look.
The sugar skulls (Bombshell Stamps) were stamped with Memento Ink and colored with Sharpies and my IG3 Spectrum Noir marker. The roses are a digi stamp (Bombshell Stamps) that I resized, printed out with my printer and then colored with a red Sharpie marker.  The T, O, D, and O in To-Do was stamped in Memento Ink with stamps from the Script Lower Set by Sweet Stamp Shop. I drew the hyphen and hearts. I also drew all of the hearts and lines on my planner spread with the Memento Dual Marker by Imagine Crafts. The washi tape I used is by Nicole Crafts and it was a clearance item at A.C. Moore.

I was on Instagram earlier and I kept seeing a lot of planner gals saying that they haven't found planner peace. I started thinking about it and what planner peace is for me. For me, planner peace is having a large enough area to decorate but also write, removeable pages, and a planner that I can customize to my liking. I am happy that I have found mine in my Happy Planner. I hope all of the other planner girls out there find there planner peace as well!

   Have a wonderful Monday!

Bite Me. - A Treat Bag Topper

Hey Everyone!

This cute treat bag topper is my last Shark Week project for this year. I hope you guys enjoyed my shark themed projects.

I used a regular sandwich re-closeable bag for the bottom of the treat bag with some gummy sharks for the treat. For the topper, I cut a piece of cardstock to 6 1/2" x 3". I scored it in half lengthwise with a scoring board and bone folder. The corners were cut with a Corner Chomper. I stamped out the phrase, shark fin, and waves with stamps using Versafine Ink. The shark fin was a little too short and didn't quite reach down to the wave so I extended it slightly using a Memento Dual Marker. I also cut out a bite mark on the bottom right with scissors. Then I watercolored the stamped images and the bite mark with Distress Markers, water and a paint brush. Once dry I added the topper to the bag with some fun blue decorative staples.

Thanks for stopping by my blog! Now we count down to next year's Shark Week!

Tiny Shark Bites.

These little shark picks are so super easy to make for a tiny shark bite-sized treat. And I will let you in on a little secret, the stamp set I used by Sweet Stamp Shop called "Between You and Me" is the reason why this project was so quick and easy. This set has the exact same shark design facing left and right! Super super awesome!  Ok, so I know you guys are so super smart and probably know exactly how to make these but I'll give you a brief run down of how I made them anyway.

First, I stamped out the left and right facing sharks on a piece of paper and colored them in. (I used Spectrum Noir markers because they were literally right next to me but you can use anything to color these in.) Then I fussy cut them out.

Next I used a mini glue dot (ok - 2 mini glue dots and 1 of those was cut in half) to adhere the back sides of the sharks together with the top of the toothpick in the middle. All that's left to do is stick them in your mini dessert or appetizer of choice and serve up your bite-sized treats!

A Shark Tooth Necklace

Shark Week is almost over, can you believe it?! It always seems to go by so fast. Today I'm sharing a shark tooth necklace made from Shrinky Dinks!

To start I sketched out a shark tooth, and then traced it with a fine tip black Sharpie marker. Then I took a picture of it and opened it up in Silhouette Studio. Next I cleaned up my design a bit by removing and fixing some nodes and then re-sized it to about 3 inches in height.

The settings that I used to cut the design out with my Silhoutte Cameo are: Coverstock; Blade 10; Speed 1; Depth 33; Doublecut. I also used Almond colored Shrinky Dinks on a brand *New* Cricut mat (I find them sturdier then the Silhouette mat) and a brand new Silhouette blade. I cut out my design 11 times (So including the double cut that would be 22 times) and cleaned debris from the blade after each double cut. This did not cut out my design completely but it was enough where I could gently bend the cut shape back and forth to remove it from the rest of the shrinky dink plastic and in some spots I actually had to carefully slide my non-stick scissors around the sides and remove my design. There were a few rough spots, so I just carefully trimmed them off with scissors.  Following the manufacturer's instructions I baked my Shrinky Dink design.

Once it cooled, I wrapped 24 gauge Stainless Steel wire around the plastic shark tooth and added a loop with my pliers so I could easily string it onto a ball chain necklace without having to use a jump ring.

Next I added it onto a stainless steel ball chain and my Shark Tooth Necklace was ready to wear!

Thanks for stopping by! See you tomorrow for the last day of Shark Week!

Shark Shaker Card.

Hey hey hey! Happy Friday!

Isn't this Shark shaker card the cutest?!  It's a large one sided card. I added a little greeting and spot in the back to sign your name or write a little message.

I cut the shark from a SVG file from Lettering Delights with my Silhouette Cameo. I added another blue layer to the top and cut out the spot for the mouth, this way I could add a shaker element underneath the top layer. The shaker was made using a sheet protector and the Fuse Tool.

For the back of the card, I used the same speech bubble as I did for my scrapbook page yesterday. I told you I love this speech bubble! The speech bubble is by Sandi Idleman and lettering/alpha is by Lettering Delights. I added the lettering into the bubble in Silhouette Studio and cut it out using the print and cut feature. There's also a little room to sign your name or write a little message.

I hope you all have a great start to your weekend! What are your plans? We will be BBQ'ing!

Happy Shark Week Dude! A 6x6 scrapbook page

Hey Guys!

Here's a 6x6 scrapbook page I made for one of my albums. Shark week themed of course! I *love* this little speech bubble.

It's an easy page to put together. The speech bubble is by Sandi Idleman and lettering is by Lettering Delights. I added the lettering into the bubble in Silhouette Studio and cut it out using the print and cut feature. The shark stamp is by Avery Elle and colored with Spectrum Noir markers. Both items were adhered to this fun paper by Echo Park. And I added a few black pearl bling to the sides.

Thanks for stopping by! I'm so sorry I didn't post yesterday. It was a long day and I didn't get a decent daylight picture before the sun went down. I will be posting twice on Saturday!

I hope you are all enjoying shark week!  See you tomorrow for a fun shaker card using this same caption bubble!

Hello Chum ATC

Here's another ATC sized card I will be adding to my Shark Week pocket page (in addition to my shark score card you saw on Sunday).  On a 2.5 x 3.5 inch card made from Specialty Stamping Paper, I inked a layer of Salty Ocean Distress Ink and then added a thick coat of Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist in Sea Glass and dried it with my embossing tool. On a second 2.5 x 3.5 inch card, I die cut a circle and inked the card with Distress Ink in Salty Ocean. After drying this card with my embossing tool as well, I adhered the cards together and stamped both fish and the worm on a hook with Ranger Archival Ink in Jet Black.  The shark stamp was colored with Spectrum Noir Markers and I added some sequins to glam it up a bit.

I am linking this up to Simon Says Stamp's Tic Tac Toe Challenge since I have a line. (Sequins, Blue, Spray).

Thanks for stopping by! See ya tomorrow!

Hi Guys!

Here is my week before the ink, all ready for Shark Week!

Shark Week is here!!!!

Happy Shark Week!

This week I will be sharing shark themed cards and crafts on my blog so be sure to stop by!

I created a score card for my boyfriend and I to fill in at the end of this week, so we can rate how we liked Shark Week this year. It's a small card, 2.5 x 3.5 inches (ATC sized) and I will be saving it in a pocket page for our album of random things.

I cut the card out using my Silhouette Cameo, and cut out the shark bite with plain ol' scissors. The stamps are by Sweet Stamp Shop. Everything except for the shark and tv was stamped right onto the card. The shark and tv were stamped onto Spectrum Noir Ultra Smooth cardstock and colored with their markers, fussy cut and adhered to the card.

Are you watching Shark Week? Let me know in the comments below!

Mmmmm Burgers...

Happy Father's Day to all the Dads out there!

I couldn't resist creating this cheeseburger card for a burger loving Dad I know. But seriously, who doesn't love a good burger?! Even if meat is not your thing, veggie burgers are pretty darn good too.

The burger stamp is from Let's BBQ by Lawn Fawn. I just stamped it all over my paper and colored 'em with Spectrum Noir markers. The lettering is my own. I drew Dad by hand with a pencil and then used a black embossing pen by Ranger to outline the letters, heat set some black embossing powder on top of it and then colored it with Spectrum Noir Markers.

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!!

Cameo Control Panel - Shark Week Is Coming!!!!

Shark Week is coming! Do you watch it?! My boyfriend and I have been watching it for years and love it!

Fun fact about me: Sharks are one of the reasons I am not a big fan of swimming in the ocean. Just the thought of one being near me and not being able to see it, eek!

Anyway, I will be celebrating with a few shark themed projects from June 26 - July 2, right here on my blog!

So to kick off the Shark Week countdown, here is my new Cameo control panel for the rest of June.

Will you be watching or crafting for Shark Week?

Fireworks at the Beach!

A blog post on a Sunday!

Today I'm playing along with Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge - Monochrome (click for link).

For my monochrome color I chose blue. This one sided "card" also has a burst of red. I'm actually going to use this in a pocket page for my 4th of July photos.

For my project I used stamps and Lawn Cuts by Lawn Fawn. The inks used are by Imagine Crafts. I thought different shades of blue would be great for a night sky/beach/ocean silhouette with some fireworks bursting in the sky. Out of all of the places to be watching fireworks, I would prefer to watch them at the beach!

It's so hard to find awesome 4th of July / Independence Day stamps and this one by Lawn Fawn is one of my favorites! Unfortunately, it has been retired by Lawn Fawn. Hopefully, next year they have a new stamp set for the holiday. (Fingers crossed!)

Have a great Sunday!

Cameo Control Panel for June - Sweet!

Hey guys!

Happy June! I updated my Silhouette Cameo control panel for June using some sugary sweet stamps from the Donut Forget set by Sweet Stamp Shop. Will I be thinking about or craving donuts, ice cream, fro-yo and cookies next time I craft? We shall see...

I decided to color these with my Spectrum Noir markers in a bold color palette instead of a light pastel palette. The fro-yo's and cherries were my favorite stamp to color for this project.

Thanks for stopping by today! Hope you are having a Sweet Day!

Root Beer Father's Day Card

The Root Beer stamp from Sweet Stamp Shop's May Release is one of my new favorite stamps. Besides being cute, it is the perfect size stamp for cards and planners. One of the many ideas that came to me for this stamp set was a Father's Day card, a holiday which I'm sure will be here before we know it.

What is one stamping technique you have always wanted to try but were afraid to?  For me, it was the mirror image stamping technique. It just seemed a little intimidating to me and I always wanted to try it out but never did. So I bit the bullet and tried. I feel that my mirror image stamp doesn't really do justice to the actual stamped image (I'm sure you can tell which one it is -- the left one) but I thought I would share it with all of you anyway as I keep practicing this technique. Maybe it will inspire one of you to try a new technique that you haven't tried before!

I found a few YouTube videos with different ways to do this technique and after trying a few of them, I found one using the Misti stamping tool by Sharon Curtis (click here for the video). This method was the easiest one for me. After I mirrored the image, I darkened it using my Memento Dual Marker because it was much lighter than my regular stamped image. I then needed to touch up my regular stamped image with my marker also, as the mirror image was a little darker.

The card bases, background, and stamped images were all cut out with my Silhouette Portrait. I used Spectrum Noir markers as my coloring medium for all of the stamped images. For the pretzels, I "salted" them with a Molotov paint pen and applied a coat of Glossy Accents. I also added a touch of "fizz" to the root beer bubbles with my Wink of Stella brush.

Hope you all have a Happy Tuesday! And let me know in the comments below what technique you will be trying next!

Always Be a Unicorn - Shaker Box

Hi Everyone!

This Unicorn Shaker Box is super easy to put together. For the color scheme, I used the exact same colors as both Lori Whitlocks' and Miss Kate Cuttables' samples. I honestly just love both cutting files exactly as they made them and I think they look so cute together.

In Silhouette Studio DE, I opened the 3D window shaker box file and cut it at that size and glued it together. (For the sequins inside, I die cut them from a sequins Die-Namics Die using my Cuttlebug.) In Studio DE, I then sized the unicorn and clouds to the top of the shaker box and cut them out as well. I pieced together and adhered the unicorn, and added Stickles to the clouds. The hardest part of making this box was waiting for the Stickles to dry. Once dry, I adhered the clouds and unicorn to the top and added a little bit of bling.

Thank you for stopping by my blog! If you have any questions, leave me a comment.
Always be a Unicorn!

Under The Sea Bookmark

The Sweet Stamp Shop Fan Club on Facebook has a Bookmark Challenge for the month of May. So exciting! Who doesn't love bookmarks?! I can still remember one of my favorite things about going to the library when I was in elementary school was getting to pick out a bookmark after you checked out your book for the week. The librarians would cut out the illustrations from old donated greeting cards and make them into bookmarks. My friends and I would always search for the cute animal ones first. So much fun!

For this challenge, I created a bookmark with an under the sea theme. I like to read paperback books on the beach rather than an e-reader and I wanted to create just a fun summery bookmark that I could use.
I started by cutting down a piece of Ranger Gloss Paper into a strip for a bookmark and inking it with Salty Ocean Distress Ink. After it dried I punched a hole in it so I could later attach ribbon, and then I stamped the anchor stamp all over the bookmark in Brilliance ink. After that was dry, I coated the whole bookmark with my Ranger Clear Resist Pad and then clear embossing powder and heated it to give it a watery look. Next I stamped out the mermaid, shells, seahorse, jellyfish and bubbles from the Mermaid Shelfie stamp set in Memento Ink on Spectrum Noir cardstock, colored them in with Spectrum Noir Markers and fussy cut them out. I applied them to my bookmark using my Xyron Create a Sticker. The shells and bubbles have a touch of a Wink of Stella Clear Glitter applied to them to give them a little bit of a shiny look.
Here's a closer look so you can see the embossing on the bookmark. Sorry the pic is a little blurry!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! My supply list is below. If you have any questions please leave me a comment or send me an e-mail.

Have a great Thursday!
